19 Eastgate Row is a notable five-story Grade II listed building, which has a rich history dating back to the year 1861. The project involved the thoughtful refurbishment of this iconic structure, converting it into desirable Airbnb accommodation. The redevelopment scheme included the creation of four one-bedroom apartments, in addition to the restoration of an existing two-bedroom penthouse apartment.
These essential works were carried out to facilitate the appropriate conversion into residential use, all while respecting and preserving the original historic features of interest, as identified in the Heritage Impact Assessment. To ensure compliance, we collaborated closely with a conservation officer, carefully stripping the building down to its structural elements and meticulously rebuilding all floor levels while maintaining the integrity of the original materials.
The completed project now boasts four floors featuring five apartments, along with a retail unit located at the ground floor level. Notably, the top-floor flat offers a charming rear balcony that overlooks Chester Cathedral to the north, providing a picturesque view.
